Who am I?
I’m Claire Brumby, a UK leadership speaker, keynote motivational speaker, bestselling author, leadership trainer, award-winning entrepreneur and ICF accredited coach.
My work today is built on more than 30 years of real-world leadership, commercial and entrepreneurial experience. From a career in hospitality management to founding, scaling and exiting my own multi-award-winning FMCG brand.
Along the way, I’ve built teams, navigated uncertainty and change, taken risks, made mistakes, rebuilt, pitched on BBC Dragons’ Den and experienced first-hand what it takes to keep leading when the path ahead isn’t straightforward.
Today, I bring those experiences together with professional coaching, behavioural insight and leadership development to help leaders, teams and organisations build greater confidence, resilience, clarity and courage.
Whether I’m speaking on a conference stage, delivering leadership training, coaching a senior leader or working with an organisation through change, my approach is practical, human and grounded in the realities of leadership.
I’m also the author of Forget Normal – I Want M.A.G.I.C., published by Kogan Page. A modern leadership book exploring mindset, courage, intuition, confidence and the way we lead ourselves and others in a changing world.
I’ve been on one hell of a journey over the past 30 years, here’s some of that craziness!
- Worked for almost 20 years in hospitality and management
- Invented, launched and scaled a multi-award-winning FMCG brand
- Grew the business to £2m turnover before exiting
- Pitched on BBC Dragons’ Den
- Became a bestselling author and Business Book Awards finalist
- Created my M.A.G.I.C. Leadership Framework
- Published Forget Normal – I Want M.A.G.I.C. with Kogan Page
- Became an ICF accredited coach, NLP Practitioner and DISC trainer
- Worked with leaders, teams and organisations across multiple sectors
- Mum to three now-adult children
- And yes… there have been a few adventures and curveballs along the way!
Throughout all of it, one thing has fascinated me: what makes people step forward, back themselves and perform at their best – particularly when things are difficult, uncertain or changing?
Leadership isn’t simply about job title, hierarchy or having all the answers. It starts with how we lead ourselves: how we think, respond under pressure, communicate, make decisions, navigate change and create the confidence for others to do the same.
That belief sits at the heart of my speaking, training and coaching, and of the M.A.G.I.C. leadership philosophy I have developed through my work and captured in my latest book.
I combine lived commercial experience with coaching, behavioural insight and practical leadership tools to create conversations that don’t simply inspire people in the moment. They help people think differently about how they lead and what they do next.
